General

What are the ISU World Figure Skating Championships® 2025?

Sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU), the ISU World Figure Skating Championships® is an annual competition that brings together the top figure skaters from around the world to compete for the title of World Champion. More than 200 athletes from an anticipated 40 countries will compete in the four skating disciplines of men, women, pairs and ice dance. With the exception of the Olympic title, a world title is considered the highest competitive achievement in figure skating.

Where are the ISU World Figure Skating Championships® 2025 being held?

All competition events for the ISU World Figure Skating Championships® 2025 will be held at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. TD Garden is located at 100 Legends Way, Boston, MA 02114, United States.

Practice sessions will be hosted nearby at Steriti Memorial Rink, in Boston’s North End.

Why do I see the slogan, “The World Returns to Boston!”?

This event was last held in the United States and Boston in 2016. The event was an outstanding success for participants and spectators alike and helped make Boston a clear, front-runner to host again when the event next returned to the United States. In fact, Boston is arguably the birthplace of figure skating in the United States, the first home to U.S. Figure Skating, the national governing body for the sport in the United States, and many of our country’s early national, world and Olympic medalists. More recently TD Garden has hosted some of the sport’s biggest events, including the 2001 & 2014 U.S. Figure Skating Championships and the 2016 ISU World Figure Skating Championships. In addition, The Skating Club of Boston most recently hosted the 2022 Skate America at their home facility in Norwood, MA. For more information on Boston’s figure- skating history, check out The Skating Club of Boston’s website.

When will the event and practice schedules come out?

The event competition schedule is always subject to change due to the number of entries of participating countries and qualifying scores. A sample schedule based on the 2024 event in Montreal is currently posted on our Competition Schedule page. A preliminary schedule for the 2025 championships is expected in late summer 2024. The practice schedule will be available closer to the start of the actual event.

Will the event be broadcast or live-streamed?

The ISU World Figure Skating Championships® 2025 will be broadcast by NBC Sports in the United States on a live and tape-delayed basis. Other countries, including Japan and Canada, and more than 40 other countries will also broadcast the event. Details on NBC’s broadcast schedule will be posted here on the ISUWorlds2025.com website closer to the event date.

What are the hotel options for visitors attending the event?

The local organizing committee is currently negotiating agreements with a wide variety of hotels to be official participating hotels for the event. An official hotel for the event will offer a favorable rate to spectators, and other benefits where possible, including complimentary WIFI and in-house breakfasts. We are also looking for hotels that are easily accessible to TD Garden by either walking or public transportation. Many hotels will be in the Copley Square area of Boston, known for its world-class restaurants, bars, and shopping. A list of participating official hotels can be found here including rates, information on location, and links for how to book once they are available.

Where will practices be held?

The practice facility is at DCR Steriti Memorial Rink, a short, five-minute walk (0.3 miles/0.5 kilometers) from the TD Garden. Seating at the Steriti Arena is limited and only credentialed personnel will be able to enter. Admission to the practice sessions at TD Garden is only with a (reusable) practice pass that is sold as part of an All-Event ticket. Practice passes will not be sold individually.

Can I volunteer for the event?

YES! An event of this magnitude and importance could not happen without the help of hundreds of volunteers. Volunteers will come from around the country to be a part of this very special event. Benefits to volunteering include tickets to events, admission to practice sessions, event-branded volunteer uniform, discounts on event merchandise, complimentary parking during your volunteer shifts, light hospitality, inclusion in daily raffles with an assortment of fantastic prizes, and the making of new and frequently, lasting friendships! All volunteers must pass a criminal background check conducted by the National Center for Safety Initiatives before final confirmation as a volunteer for the event.

For event tickets, volunteers who complete two (6) hour shifts will receive a pass to exchange for two individual event seats (balcony seats/best available) for two sessions. Please note: you need to complete BOTH 6-hour shifts to be eligible for any tickets. It is not one 6-hour shift = one ticket.

All volunteers must be 18 years or older, a U.S. citizen and must pass a criminal background check conducted by the National Center for Safety Initiatives before final confirmation as a volunteer for the event.

Please note: volunteers may only wear their uniform and event credentials when working a volunteer shift. Credentials may not be used to access the venue when not working as a volunteer. Separate passes may be issued to volunteers who need to come in during non-volunteer shift times.

If you are interested in more information or to register to volunteer for the event, you may register here.

The Exhibition of Champions is a non-competitive skating show of the top medalists from the ISU World Figure Skating Championships that takes place at the end of the week of competition. It is planned for Sunday, March 30, 2025. This is a great opportunity for existing skating fans and those new to the sport to see the top skating talent in the world skate fun programs, in a relaxed environment free from the scrutiny of the judges, and with theatrical lighting. The Exhibition of Champions is also a fun show for the whole family.

Where can I purchase Exhibition of Champions tickets?

Tickets for the Exhibition of Champions on Sunday, March 30, 2025, may be purchased with the purchase of your All-Event ticket(s). Otherwise, the Exhibition of Champions tickets are single-event tickets and will go on sale individually in the fall of 2024.

Will accessible seating be available?

Yes, accessible seating is available for this event. Please indicate that you are interested in accessible seating on the Ticket Request Form after hitting the “Buy Tickets” button on the All-Events ticket page (link to page). A ticket representative will work with you to accommodate your request.

For more information about the Accessibility services at the TD Garden, click  here Please note that accessible seating All-Event tickets for this event can only be purchased through the Local Organizing Committee at this time and not through Ticketmaster or the TD Garden’s Box Office.

Why can’t I purchase these All-Event tickets using a completely automated system?

The All-Event tickets being offered by the Local Organizing Committee are actually an advance-sale purchase before the event goes on sale through TD Garden’s online Account Manager platform in the fall of 2024. Many spectators appreciate the personal touch when speaking with a representative from the Local Organizing Committee to whom they can ask questions. Most spectators also appreciate the reduced cost when purchasing tickets directly from the Local Organizing Committee.

Will my child require their own ticket?

It depends upon their age. All guests two years of age or older must possess their own ticket for entry into TD Garden. A child under the age of two will be admitted free of charge for all events, provided that the child will sit on the lap of a ticketholder.  They are not entitled to a seat that was not purchased. Please note that if asked, the ticketholder must show identification substantiating the age of the child.

Where can I find information about renting a TD Garden suite?

At this time, suites at TD Garden are not available for rent for this event. If you are interested in purchasing a suite, please contact VIPTicketing@TdGarden.com for further information on suite rental details and availability.

What is the officials’ stand, and where will it be located?

The officials’ stand is a multi-level platform that accommodates the competition’s referees, judges, technical panel, announcers and music technicians. For the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2025, the officials’ stand will be on two levels and run the length of Sections Loge 1, 2 and 21 at ice level.

What is the “Kiss & Cry” area, and where is it located?

The Kiss-and-Cry area for a skating competition is where the skaters sit with their coach(es) after performing their program and while waiting for their scores. Its name references the range of emotions a skater and their coach(es) might experience after the skater has performed.

For the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2025, the Kiss and Cry will be located at ice level in Section Loge 18 of TD Garden.

Are tickets refundable?

Once you have approved and confirmed the seat selection for your tickets, all ticket sales are final. They will not be refundable for any reason. Please know that the event schedule is not yet set, and competition start and finish times will be subject to change until the week of the event. This is because the number of participating athletes may change due to injury or other unforeseen circumstances that are beyond the control of the event organizers.

Is the process to purchase tickets the same for international visitors?

Yes, international visitors should be able to purchase tickets smoothly through the Local Organizing Committee by using their credit card. Based on our experience, we have seen that international credit card holders do have an increase in decline rates if they do not notify their credit card company that they are making an international purchase. The best way to avoid this is to contact your bank to authorize international transactions BEFORE purchasing your tickets.

What if I have a large group that would like to sit together?

For Tour Operators and groups of 10 or more, please contact tickets@isuworlds2025.com for group information.

We will also be adding to these FAQs as we go along so please check back to this page too.

Why haven’t I received a ticket confirmation?

Our ticket process for this next year is unique in that we have REAL people assigning your seats and sending you a ticket confirmation. The reason we are doing this is to save you money on ticket fees through third-party ticket sites and to provide the best customer service so that we can also answer your questions along the way.  We know this may seem a little painful since we live in an “instant gratification” world where we expect immediate gratification with each purchase. We hope that the economic savings and personal touch will be appreciated even if you are waiting a bit longer.

Should I book a phone appointment if I haven’t received a ticket confirmation?

No. The phone appointments are meant for those who have questions about booking tickets or need to switch their preliminary ticket assignment. We are hard at work to send all the ticket confirmations within the 3-5 business day window and appreciate everyone’s patience. If you are still waiting on your ticket confirmation, we apologize for the delay. You’ll most definitely receive your ticket confirmation before your scheduled phone appointment as our team is booking phone appointments two weeks out at this point due to demand and the holidays.

I scheduled a call about a ticket question but I no longer need the call, what should I do?

We’re glad your ticket issue has been resolved. Please cancel the call on your calendar to free up available times for those who may need it.

I’m worried my tickets won’t be processed with the upcoming holidays, what can I do?

Your tickets are being processed! We appreciate your support of this event and we are busy making sure all the tickets are processed in the order in which they are received. Neither wind, nor sleet, nor rain nor the holidays will stop us. Your ticket order is as important to us as it is to you. We promise.

I have a question about my tickets, can I schedule a call with someone?

Yes! You can  schedule a call  with one of our Ticket Representatives if you have questions about your tickets or the event in general. Unfortunately due to high-demand, the appointments are booking at 2-3 weeks out. You can also send a ticket-related question to   tickets@isuworlds2025.com  or a general question to  info@isuworlds2025.com .
